Moldova relies on Slovenian experience in European integration

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/- In the context of participating in ministerial meeting of the Global Anti-ISIS Coalition, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Aureliu Ciocoi met yesterday with his Slovenian counterpart, Anže Logar, to review important issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as immediate objectives in order to strengthen the Moldovan-Slovenian political-diplomatic dialogue and advance cooperation on European integration.

According to the MAEIE's press service, Aureliu Ciocoi and Anže Logar reaffirmed their common desire to deepen bilateral relations, including by holding an exchange of visits at the level of the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the near future, and welcomed the holding in Ljubljana of the next round of inter-ministerial political consultations at the level of Secretary of State.

The Moldovan official expressed appreciation for the continued support provided by the Slovenian authorities in the context of the dialogue of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union and reiterated the foreign ministry's interest in taking over Slovenia's experience in advancing the European path.

At the same time, Ciocoi commented on the importance of enhanced cooperation of the associated Trio states within the Eastern Partnership, in order to ensure regional stability and security. He also voiced expectations of the Republic of Moldova from the forthcoming Eastern Partnership Summit and Slovenia's support in this regard.

They also broached issues related to regional cooperation and security, measures to mitigate the effects of the pandemic crisis, the organization of the vaccination process, as well as the expansion of the bilateral legal framework. In this context, it was proposed to conclude a bilateral arrangement for the mutual recognition of vaccination certificates, in order to facilitate mutual travel for citizens of both states.
