Over 12.7% of Moldovan people vaccinated against COVID-19

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/- Vaccination rate against COVID-19 reached 12.7% and reached the threshold of 700,000 doses administered since the beginning of the vaccination campaign. The data were presented today by the leadership of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection / MSMPS / during the weekly press conference. At the same time, the officials announced that several samples were sent to a laboratory in Germany to see if the Indian version of the virus had arrived in our country.

MSMPS state secretary Igor Curov urged people to get vaccinated, especially in the context in which there has been an increase in cases of infection in some countries. “We note that the vaccines against COVID-19 are also effective for the Delta strain. We have evidence that vaccinated patients did not need hospitalization or hospitalization in the intensive care unit. The Republic of Moldova has the necessary number of vaccines in stock to vaccinate all citizens. All serums are safe and effective and we urge you to get vaccinated as soon as possible to prevent another wave of infections, "said the official.

According to the data presented by the authorities, over 84.5% of the medical workers were vaccinated, which contributed to the decrease by 90% of the morbidity rate among them. In total, to date, 1,425 side effects have been reported, of which 93.3% are mild and 6.7% are moderate.

Of the total number of people vaccinated, 47% are women and 53% men.

The Republic of Moldova has got 1,096,790 doses of vaccine against COVID-19 so far. Those wishing to get vaccinated can go to the family doctor or can make appointment via www.vaccinare.gov.md.
