New trolleybus route inaugurated in Chisinau

Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/- Ten trolleybuses will run on the new route No38, which will link the Botanica sector to Buiucani.

Chisinau city hall today inaugurated a new trolleybus route, which will ensure the connection between the two sectors. On a certain part of this route, trolleybuses will run autonomously. All ten transport units on the route have the capacity to run autonomously 20 km.

According to Mayor Ion Ceban, the route was chosen following a survey conducted on the municipality's information portal. "This route has garnered the most votes from the city's residents. We approved it because we wanted to create an alternative route to connect the two sectors of the city that would decongest the traffic at the same time ", he said.

For his part, Dorin Ciornâi, director of Regia Transport Electric Chișinău, said that the ten trolleybuses are part of the batch bought last year from Belarus and assembled in the capital. "There are new cars assembled in Chisinau. All are air conditioned. The traffic interval will be 20 minutes ", said Ciornâi.

He added that in two weeks, a new trolleybus route will be launched, which will also include Columna Street.
