Most candidates for MP seats have ages between 36 and 50 years in Moldova

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 717 candidates for the MP seats with ages between 36 and 50 years participate in the 11 July snap parliamentary elections.
For this ballot, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) registered 23 electoral contenders: 20 political parties, two electoral blocs and one independent candidate. A number of 959 candidates (53.5 per cent) out of all 1,791 candidates for MP seats are men and 832 (43.5 per cent) are women.
The age profile of the candidates is as follows: candidates with ages between 18 and 35 years – 589 people (32.89 per cent); between 36 and 50 years – 717 (40.03 per cent); between 51 and 70 years – 456 (25.46 per cent); older than 71 years – 29 candidates (1.62 per cent).
The most popular professions among the candidates who aspire to the office of lawmaker are: jurist 277 (15.46 per cent), economist 205 (11.44 per cent), engineer – 199 (11.11 per cent), teacher/pedagogue – 199 (11.11 per cent), physician - 76 (4.24 per cent).
At the same time, 111 unemployed people (6.19 per cent), 67 pensioners (3.74 per cent), as well as 57 students (3.18 per cent) are registered in the electoral race.
