Works for reconstruction of water purifying station from Causeni town of Moldova completed

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - The works of reconstruction and modernization of the water-purifying station from the south-eastern Causeni town have been completed. Presently, the station is under testing and is to be put into operation in the near future.     

The reconstruction of this station, as well as the rehabilitation of the town’s sewerage system will help reduce the discharge of the insufficiently purified waste water and protect the environment, will improve the operational service as to the exploitation of the system of treatment and distribution of drinking water to residents.

According to the director of the South Regional Development Agency (ADR Sud), Olga Gorban, the problems related to the environmental protection and management of water resources are pressing and are in the permanent focus of the competent ministry and ADR Sud. ‘’We are concerned about implementing as many as possible projects of the kind of the one from Causeni in the other districts of the region as well, in order to prevent the degradation of the environment and the quality of water resources,’’ Olga Gorban said.   

The reconstruction of the water purifying station started in February 2020, with an overall cost of about 46 million lei, of which 33 million was allocated from the National Regional Development Fund and the other 13 million lei was covered from contribution by the Causeni District Council.
