Moldova's Commission for Awarding of National Prize 2021 holds first meeting

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Commission for Awarding the National Prize today held its first meeting, chaired by acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi as head of the commission. The Commission members discussed organizational aspects as to the conditions for application and process of selecting the files for the contest, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

Aureliu Ciocoi emphasized the importance of selecting the personalities with truthful values in all sectors awarded at the National Prize contest. ‘’I want to see good candidates in the fields of literature, cinematography, medicine, theatre, as well as applied and fundamental sciences, etc. The files due to be considered within this Commission must contain values,’’ the acting PM said.    

The commission members ruled to start the contest for the awarding of the National Prize and the letters of recommendation of the candidates/collectives of candidates are to be submitted exclusively in electronic format to the email [email protected] during 2-9 July till 15:00.   

The recommendation letters are worked out in accordance in with the Annex 1 to the regulation on the National Prize, approved under the Government Decision No 504/2018 (Official Journal, 2018, No 176-180, article 555).   

The government annually awards ten national prizes. This year, the gala of the national contest, National Prize 2021, will take place on 26 August. The National Prize consists of a diploma, medal and financial reward worth 100,000 lei, provided as appreciation by the cabinet of the innovative approach, perseverance and abnegation in work, substantial contribution with considerable impact to the development of the society, science, technologies, culture, art and sport, to the promotion of the moral/humanitarian principles, as well as to the consolidation of the values, heritage and image of Moldova.
