More than 16,000 driveres imposed fines for exceeding speed limit in Moldova in one month alone

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - Patrol inspectors have sanctioned over 16,400 drivers for exceeding the speed limit during one month alone.  

According to data by the Public Security Inspectorate, another 80 drivers who are fond of high speeds triggered traffic accidents, in the wake of which seven people died and 98 were injured.   

In the context, law-enforcers urge drivers, including the ones of trucks on international routes, to cease moving with high speeds on highways. ‘’You have tens of hours at wheel; you are tired after a long journey; when you enter the country, nearby your homes, you forget about the speed limit and push the accelerator pedal,’’ reads a press release of the Inspectorate.    

The quoted source noted that policemen would patrol on roads in continuation, in order to sanction hurrying drivers.
