Chisinau, 2 July /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan citizens holders of biometric passports can enter Romania, regardless of the purpose of the trip.
The Romanian Embassy in Chisinau informs that from 1 July changes have been made in the legislation on the quarantine regime, on new exceptions and eliminating previously exempted professional categories.
According to a recent communiqué of the Romanian Embassy, the alert status on the Romanian territory was extended by 30 days, but no restrictions were set on the entry of foreign citizens and stateless persons in Romania. Therefore, all citizens of the Republic of Moldova, holders of biometric passports, can enter Romania, regardless of the purpose of the trip (for example, short-term stay, transit).
The general rule stipulates that for foreign citizens and stateless persons arriving in Romania, regardless of the area from which they come (green, yellow or red), including from the Republic of Moldova, the quarantine measure is established for a period of 14 days (except for those coming from EU / EEA / Swiss Confederation).
People who provide proof of vaccination (10 days after the end of the scheme) as well as those who have been tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus infection in the last 180 days are exempted from the quarantine measure.
Romanian citizens who return to Romania from abroad and have spent the last 14 days in a green area (including the Republic of Moldova) are not placed in quarantine (they do not have to prove vaccination or compliance with the exceptions provided by law).
