Moldovan president lays flowers at monument to Stephen the Great

Chisinau, 2 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today commemorated the 517th anniversary of the death of Ruler Stephen the Great. The head of state, along with the team of advisers, laid flowers at the Ruler’s monument in Chisinau today morning, the presidential press service has reported.
„There are more than five centuries during which his glory story has been continuing to inspire people on this land, to tell us that the freedom must be defended even in the most terrible times and the courage brings victory. And, just as the Ruler, when there is will, we can do great deeds with poor means. This is the most important lesson given by Stephen the Great and Holy and which we must convey to the new generations,’’ a message by President Maia Sandu reads.
Stephen the Great was Ruler of Moldova during 47 years on the period 1457-1504.
