Events dedicated to Moldovan writer start at Chisinau-based B.P. Hasdeu municipal library

Chisinau, 2 July /MOLDPRES/ - A string of events titled, 30 Days with Vladimir Besleaga, are held at the B.P. Hasdeu Municipal Library from Chisinau on 1-30 July.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the library’s director, Mariana Harjevschi, said the comprehensive schedule dedicated to the birthday anniversary of writer, man Vladimir Besleaga had started on 1 July with an en event-launch of those 30 days with Vladimir Besleaga at the Onisifor Ghibu Library, titled, Nonagenarian writer Vladimir Besleaga.
An important event dedicated to the writer’s anniversary is an international conference titled, Vladimir Besleaga – flight in adhesion with the present time, due on 23 July, at 11:00. Writers, literary critics from Moldova and Romania are to attend the event.
Vladimir Besleaga was born in the Malaiesti village, eastern Grigoriopol district, on 25 July 1931. He graduated from the Moldovan State University in 1955.
The writer debuted in 1956. In 1966, Besleaga published the novel, Zbor frânt (Broken Flight), regarded as the best post-war Bessarabian literary prose.
Vladimir Besleaga was awarded the State Prize of the Moldovan Soviet Socialist Republic in 1978. In 1991 he became People’s Writer. Besleaga was awarded the Order of the Republic in 1996, which he challenged.
In 1990s, Vladimir Besleaga got involved in the national revival movement and was lawmaker in the first parliament of the independent Moldova.
