Week begins with warning of atmospheric instability, flood risk

Chisinau, 5 July /MOLDPRES/- The State Hydrometeorological Service announced yellow code of atmospheric instability for 5-6 July.

According to meteorologists, electric discharges, heavy rain (15-49 liters per square meter) accompanied by storms of up to 15-20 meters per second and hail are expected in the country today and tomorrow.

The weather will cool down slightly, and the air temperature will be up to +27 degrees Celsius during the day, and up to +20 degrees - at night.

Also, the Hydrological Center of the State Hydrometeorological Service announced, until July 7, in connection with heavy rains, the Yellow Code of intensive runoff on slopes at risk of local floods, as well as the increase of water levels in small rivers by 0.3- 0.8 meters. The water will drain within the minor riverbed.

In case of yellow code, the weather conditions are potentially dangerous, the forecast meteorological phenomena (showers, electric discharges, wind intensifications, high or low temperatures, risk of rising flows and levels in rivers and streams, etc.) are common for the territory of the country, but they can temporarily become dangerous for certain social and economic activities.
