Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/- Management of the Moldsilva Agency requested that during periods of heavy rainfall, access to the forest fund be reduced with transport of any kind. The measure will help protect flora and fauna by keeping forest roads intact, especially nearby national routes, and will be a relaxing time for forest animals during the breeding season.
"Disturbance of peace in the forest, excessive noise, engine roar and actions with noisy impact endanger the behavior and coexistence of animals in the forest, during this period in which the animal kingdom reproduces," say foresters.
At the same time, excessive travel with various means of transport in the forest floor causes compromising natural regeneration, soil compaction, loss of seed, destruction of habitats of rare and endangered plant species.
"We rely heavily on the understanding of the population to, through a joint effort, to develop the forest fund of the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, we warn that for those who will not comply with this request, special measures will be applied. The rapid intervention teams of the foresters will be engaged in a permanent activity, and on the access roads, which are to be protected, the appropriate inscriptions will not be missing and various impediments will be placed, including nails and clamps ", a press release said.
The institution reiterates that these are temporary measures meant to protect the structure of the soils from the forest fund, the practicability of forest roads, as well as to allow the population of forests with species of the animal kingdom.
