Transport capacity of Iași – Ungheni gas pipeline to increase from 1 October

Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/- Operator of methane gas transmission network in Romania, Transgaz, announced it has increased the transmission capacity of the Iași – Ungheni gas pipeline, so the new technical capacity will be available from 1 October.
The Romanian gas transmission network operator informs that, following the recent conclusion between Transgaz and Vestmoldtransgaz of the Additional Act to the Interconnection Agreement and updating of the Common Method for Determining Capacity in PI Ungheni, starting with 1 October 2021 technical capacity Ungheni in both directions of transport will be available to the market at a higher level compared to the one currently available.
Also, in the direction of the Republic of Moldova-Romania, the maximum technical capacity will be at the level of 932,000 m3 / day (0 ⁰C), respectively 10,543 MWh / day (15/15 ⁰C).
In 2020, the date of completion of the Iași-Ungheni gas pipeline, its transport capacity was 1.5 million cubic meters on the Romania-Republic of Moldova route. On the Moldova-Romania relationship, the capacity was 200,000 cubic meters.
