Less appeals submitted following Baccalaureate session in Moldova in 2021

Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC) has made public the final results of the national Baccalaureate examination (basic session), following the consideration of appeals. Thus, after the preliminary results had been announced, 9,293 contestations were submitted out of the overall number of 65,944 marks given in the basic session, which represents 14.09 per cent less against the previous years.
According to MECC, numerically, most appeals were submitted in the discipline Romanian language and literature – 2,703, which is the discipline with the largest number of candidates admitted. As many as 1,813 appeals were submitted in the English language, 1,163 – in the history of the Romanians and universal history, 1,002 – in mathematics and 985 – in geography. Following the appeals’ examination, 2,192 marks were increased, which accounts for 23.59 per cent of all appealed marks and 3.32 per cent of all marks given at the basic session of the national Baccalaureate examination.
As many as 10,914 candidates from lyceums, 4,601 candidates from colleges and centres of excellence, 187 candidates from universities, 342 candidates registered in external regime and 169 people who failed to pass all exams in the previous sessions were admitted to the Baccalaureate session – 16,213 candidates in all.
