Chisinau, 12 July /MOLDPRES/- PAS acting leader Igor Grosu announced today the party's priorities after the victory in the snap parliamentary elections. He noted that the party is ready to appoint a new executive.
During a briefing, Grosu stated that he is proud of the PAS result and wanted to thank almost 1 million 500 thousand citizens who went to the polls.
"We are waiting for the validation of the elections by the Constitutional Court and we want the new Parliament to start the activity as soon as possible. We are ready to appoint a new government and to present publicly a government plan for the next four years ", said Grosu.
He added that PAS has already set some priorities for the next period. "First of all - cleaning up the judiciary and fighting corruption, so that the right prosecutors and judges have the green light to recover the stolen billion, confiscate the assets of thieves and swindlers, stop the huge flows of money stolen from the backs of ordinary citizens. The second priority will be to attract European investment and funds. The new government will ensure the correct use of the 600 million euros of aid provided by the European Union for economic recovery, and other funds and investments to start major infrastructure projects and generate economic recovery, job creation and investment opportunities.
The country must be economically raised so that we can ensure a dignified life for everyone. We reiterate our commitment to increase the minimum pension to 2,000 lei, to compensate for those most affected by price increases.
A third priority must be to change the way state institutions work. We spend too much money on institutions that don't do their job. Both the Government and the institutions subordinated to the Parliament will undergo an audit, both financial and functional ", Grosu said.
He said his party will continue to closely monitor the post-election process.
The Central Electoral Commission data show that after processing 99.53% of the reports of parliamentary elections, PAS would pick up 52.60% of the votes (63 seats).
