Fire destroys wheat harvest on field in sourthern Taraclia district of Moldova

Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ - A wheat field with an area of 75 hectares from the Mirnoe village, southern Taraclia district, has taken fire. Twelve special vehicles participated in the fire’s extinguishing and managed to save about 40 hectares with harvest, according to the regional media.

The fire occurred on 12 July evening and the entire strength of the Taraclia-based section for emergency situations got involved in its liquidation. Rescuers from Vulcanesti gave a helping hand as well.

At the same time, the field’s owner got involved with several technology units, so that the fire does not hit the nearby fields.

The harvest was destroyed on 35 hectares in the wake of the fire. The damages and the reasons for the fire are being established, www.tuc.md says.
