Acting deputy premier for reintegration discusses with Ambassador of United Kingdom to Moldova

Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Olga Cebotari today had an online meeting with Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Moldova Steven Fisher, employees of the diplomatic mission and representatives of the Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS), the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The discussions’ agenda included projects meant to promote the confidence building measures and the assistance available to this end on behalf of British authorities.
On this occasion, the British ambassador and IPIS experts suggested an analytical project/study, titled, Transdniestrian conflict settlement: increasing the capacity of official working groups as negotiations mechanism and confidence-building measure, recently carried out in joint cooperation and with the financial support of the government of the United Kingdom. The project shows the developments marked in the process of negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement, activity and dynamic pursued at the level of sectoral working groups, findings and recommendations formulated by authors, in order to optimize the talks and identify pragmatic solutions to up-to-date problems on the agenda.
The deputy prime minister noted that, along with employees of the Reintegration Policies Bureau, she would familiarize with the content and recommendations set forth in the aforementioned study. Cebotari said that decision-makers would consider possibilities of enforcing useful suggestions and which are able to help strengthen the Moldovan delegation’s position at the process of negotiations.
At the same time, Olga Cebotari reiterated Chisinau’s continuous efforts to achieve a peaceful and sustainable settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, as well as the need to maintain a permanent and constructive dialogue in all formats of negotiations accepted for solving the daily difficulties in the interest of the citizens from both banks of the Dniester river.
Also, the official positively appreciated the constant support displayed for Moldova’s citizens from all over the country and in order to develop new initiatives of projects on confidence building, in the context of the Transnistrian settlement.
