Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) today voted for Olga Ursu as deputy mayor in charge of the economic sector.
The Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, asked the CMC members to give a vote of confidence to Olga Ursu as deputy mayor, noting that she had proved her professionalism as head of the office of the general mayor, competent with the economic sector. ‘’She is a person who proved her qualities in the economic and financial field,’’ Ceban said.
Answering questions by municipal councilors, Olga Ursu said that the ‘’Chisinau city hall presently does not have outstanding payments or problems with liquidities’’ and that ‘’there are no premises for the increase in the deficit of the capital’s budget.’’
Ursu noted that the main problem in the financial and economic sector of the Chisinau city hall dealt with the transfers from the state budget to the local public administration. ‘’The reimbursements from the state budget to the Chisinau city hall are made with delay,’’ the deputy mayor also said.
The official specified that the principal financial and economic goals of the city hall were focused on the increase in revenues and this can be made through the development of public-private partnerships and the turning to good account of the uninhabitable heritage owned by the city hall.
Olga Ursu was voted by 27 municipal councilors. The factions of the Dignity and Truth Platform Party, Action and Solidarity Party and Liberal Party did not back the candidacy put forward by Ion Ceban.
