Moldova's Prosecutor General's Office takes note of cyber attack committed against official website of Court of Accounts

Chisinau, 16 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Prosecutor General’s Office (PG) has informed that it took note of the cyber attack committed against the official webpage of the Court of Accounts (CCRM) and after the communication with CCRM decision-makers, PG is to be notified according to the legislation in force.
According to PG, ”the illegal access to the computerized information’’ is punished with fine worth from 850 to 1,350 conventional units or non-remunerated work for the benefit of the community from 180 to 240 hours or imprisonment up to three years; at the same time, the legal entity is punished with fine worth from 4,000 to 7,000 conventional units, with the deprivation from the right to exercise a certain activity or liquidation of the legal entity.
Under the Article 270 of the criminal procedure code, the investigation of this category of offences is within the competence of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the quicker such incidents are reported to the law-enforcement bodies, the bigger the chances to discover them are.
On 15 July, the Court of Accounts informed that its public databases had been destroyed in the wake of a cyber attack.
