Almost 14,000 people vaccinate in Moldova in last week-end

Chisinau, 19 July /MOLDPRES/ - About 14,000 people were immunized on 17 July, following more actions of promotion and boosting the vaccination process, carried out all over Moldova.  

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), in late last week, more mobile teams were organized, which went from home to home to inform citizens about the benefits of the vaccination and to immunize the people interested in being protected from the virus. An activity of this kind was held in Otaci, with the support of residents from the Association of Students and Residents from the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF). Over 300 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 in just several hours.

„We thank the local public authorities, medical employees and residents for the huge efforts made for carrying out the vaccination process. On the next period, we plan to mobilize an as large number as possible of mobile teams, especially in rural zones. All this in order to prevent another wave of infections. It is quite important for us to speed up the vaccination campaign, enhance the degree of acceptiing of the anti-COVIDE-19 vaccines, accomplish the full scheme of immunization, especially as presently we can take advantage of a good period from the epidemiological viewpoint as compared with other countries,’’ the state secretary at MSMPS, Denis Cernelea said.  

The campaign of vaccination against COVID-19 started in Moldova on 2 March 2021. As many as 864,567 doses of vaccine against Covid-19 have been administered in Moldova so far.
