Cahul municipality of Moldova, Constanta city of Romania to become twin cities

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Cahul and Constanta municipalities from Moldova and Romania, respectively, will develop cooperation relations, which are to be established in an agreement on twinning. The possibility of signing the document was considered by Cahul mayor Nicolae Dandis at a recent visit to Constanta.
According to the Cahul city hall, Nicolae Dandis had a meeting with Constanta mayor Virgil Chitac, ‘’in order to establish multilateral cooperation relations between the two municipalities.’’
“I appreciated the openness and wish to sign an agreement on twinning, after its approval in the two local councils. The carrying out of joint cultural, sports and social actions is just one of the fields on which we agreed to return with details in the process of work. Especially as, for 2021-2022, the Constanta municipality was nominated the Capital of Youth from Romania,’’ Dandis said.
In the last spring, the Cahul city became twin with the Iasi city of Romania, after at the mayors of the two settlements had signed an agreement to this effect at the Iasi city hall on 27 March.
The Cahul municipality has signed more cooperation agreement with cities from Bulgaria, France, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine; yet, most settlements which have special relations with the Cahul city of Moldova are from Romania.
