Chisinau, 23 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Constitutional Court (CCM) has confirmed the results of the 11 July snap parliamentary elections and validated the MP mandates.

The constitutional judges today considered the request by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) on the confirmation of the 11 July polls and validation of the mandates of the lawmakers elected. The central electoral administration on 19 July tabulated the results of the 11 July parliamentary elections and submitted the polls’ results to the Constitutional Court.

According to the validly expressed votes got by the electoral contenders at the ballot and proceeding from the provisions of the electoral legislation, three electoral contenders met the minimal electoral threshold: Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), which picked up 63 mandates, Electoral Bloc of Communists and Socialists with 32 mandates and Short Political Party, which got six lawmaker mandates.

Following the elections’ validation, President Maia Sandu is to summon the first meeting of the newly elected parliament in 30 days.
