Cross-border project dedicated to Stephen the Great launched in north Moldova city

Chisinau, 23 July /MOLDPRES/ - Stefan cel Mare – common history, common heritage, Soroca-Vaslui (Romania) is the title of a cross-border project launched in the northern Soroca city on 22 July. The programme is set to contribute to the promotion of the cultural and historical heritage from the two settlements, through the restoration of representative historical monuments placed in the zone and by organizing events.
„In the context of the launch of the new project, the Soroca municipality is one of the two poles of growth of the North Development Region, including in the national programme on development of cities-poles of growth in Moldova for 2021-2027. This implies that, on the next period, sources of national and external funds will be directed to the Soroca city, in order to back the speeding up of the social and economic development capable to develop the nearby rural areas,’’ sources of the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord) said.
The project, Stefan cel Mare – common history, common heritage, Soroca-Vaslui, is financed by the European Union through the European Neighbourhood Instrument, within the Romania/Moldova Joint Operational Programme 2014-2020. The project was elaborated and submitted by the Soroca District Council, in partnership with the Stefan cel Mare county museum from the Vaslui city and the Vaslui county council.
The overall value of the project is 1,664,118 euros and will be carried out on the period April 2021-March 2023.
