Chisinau, 23 July /MOLDPRES/ - The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) has informed that it kept a close eye on the situation and presented details in the context of the latest developments on the oil products market from Moldova and the lack of diesel at some fuel supply stations. ANRE says there is diesel in Moldova, but operators refuse to sell it.
The Agency finds out from official statistics data that, on the last days, some operators have introduced significant quantities of diesel into the Giurgiulesti International Free Port; yet, they refuse to sell this type of product at the fuel supply stations. ‘’The emerged situation deals exclusively with their responsibility and the state’s institutions are to analyze the situation and find out the reasons for the concerned phenomenon, with all needed consequences,’’ ANRE said.
As for the latest legislative amendments and the regulatory framework, as well as the statements in the public space made by oil companies or experts/opinion makers, ANRE firmly condemns any attempt of exerting pressures on the Agency’s earlier approved decisions.
„At the same time, the present legislative framework showed certain vulnerabilities in this sector, which are to be remedied in the nearest time, in order not to give possibility of their use in one’s own interests in the long run,’’ ANRE also said.
The Agency noted that, according to preliminary data, on 1-22 July, 11.6 thousand tons of petrol and 32 thousand tons of diesel were introduced in Moldova, including in the Giurgiulesti International Free Port.
