Chisinau, 23 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Joint Control Commission (JCC) held a weekly meeting on 22 July, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
At the meeting, Moldova’s delegation highlighted a case from 15 July 2021, when two employees of the Dubasari police inspectorate were illegally detained for about 12 hours by representatives of the so-called mgb (state security ministry) from Tiraspol.
Incidents of this kind systematically occur in the Security Zone and the Transnistrian side categorically rejected the proposals to include the issue on the official agenda of discussions, just as it did this time too.
At the same time, the headquarters of the so-called mgb are excluded from the route of movement of military observers, for which reason Moldova’s delegation warned the head of the general staff of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces about the need to visit and document the situation at all objects of the law-enforcement structures placed in the Security Zone.
Taking into account that, during a long period of time, the Joint Control Commission has been proving its incapacity to have a proper reaction to the serious problems in its area of responsibility, Moldova’s delegation reiterates its position on the opportunity to initiate the monitoring of the situation in the Security Zone by international independent experts under the aegis of the OSCE Mission in Moldova.
As for the actions approved at the 15 July 2021 meeting, meant to improve the conditions of service at the Joint Peacekeeping Forces placed nearby the Vadul lui Voda settlement, Moldova’s delegation pointed out the openness of the OSCE Mission in Moldova for the coordination and eventual financial support of the measures scheduled. Thus, the Moldovan delegation proposed to the sides to make a request in this respect to the OSCE Mission in Moldova. The delegation of Russia and the Tiraspol one said that such a situation would make the OSCE Mission replace the role of peacekeepers in the operation at Dniester. Both delegations asked for time for additional consultations, for which reason the meeting was interrupted and the subject’s consideration will continue in next September.
As a result of the actions due to be carried out till late 2021, the post on the left bank of the Dniester river will be re-placed, so that the road Cosnita-Balabanesti is de-blocked, with the removal of the obstacles to the movement of citizens and transport means on this road segment.
