Almost one million citizens of Moldova vaccinated against COVID-19

Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 955,799 doses of anti-COVID vaccine have been administered in Moldova since the beginning of the vaccination campaign on 2 March. Another about 50,000 Moldovans were immunized abroad.
According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), about 1,200 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 on 25 July, at marathons organized in the districts of Ialoveni, Briceni and Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia. About 19,000 people were vaccinated in all in the last week-end. The vaccines Pfizer/BioNTech, Johnson&Johnson, AstraZeneca, Sinovac and Sinopharm were accessible for vaccination.
All actions were held with the support of the Health Centres from Briceni, Ialoveni and UTA Gagauzia, district hospitals, local public administrations and Association of Residents and Students from the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF).
„We express sincere appreciations and gratitude to the Health Centres, family physicians, local public administrations, volunteer physicians, USMF students for the support and efforts made for the citizens’ vaccination and informing. The boosting of the immunization process is a more than important action, in order to prevent an active increase in the number of cases.’’ the MSMPS state secretary, Denis Cernelea, said.
Moldova has received 1,248,090 doses of anti-CPVID vaccine so far, of which over 500,000 doses have come as donation on behalf of Romania.
