Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - First of all, we must invest in teachers. We need to modernize the pedagogical education, turn it more relevant and interesting for young people and re-bring the former respect to this profession. President Maia Sandu made statements to this effect at the foundation meeting of the new parliament today.
“Moldova can use the advantages of the geographical position and the multi-linguism, in order to develop a pedagogical university famous in the region or even internationally. Teachers must keep abreast of the modern technologies and use them in the teaching process, so that the teaching takes place at the individual level and no child lags behind,’’ Sandu noted.
The head of state also said that ‘if we do not undertake serious measures at present, Moldova will remain without teachers in many schools of the country.’’
„We must come up with a serious programme both of provision with teachers and on supply with medical staff in the country’s settlements. When we say education system, we must extend the area of intervention, in order to provide opportunities of continuous education during the entire life, especially in the context of the new challenges on the labour market, triggered by automation and roboticts. We should everybody learn to get adapted and be prepared for more professions during the professional life,’’ the Moldovan president added.
