Moldovan president meets writer

Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu met writer Vladimir Besleaga at the headquarters of the Presidency today. The head of state congratulated the distinguished writer on the occasion of his 90th birthday anniversary, marked on 25 July, and wished him good health and inspiration, the presidential press service has reported.  

„I admired his energy, the encyclopedic spirit and the life wisdom. We discussed about the past and the ‘’terrible times’’, which strengthened Besleaga and formed his personality. At the same time, in the hall where the Declaration of Independence was voted, we recalled the period when the writer gave a helping hand to the setting up of the Republic Moldova, as leader of the national liberation Movement and as lawmaker in the first parliament,’’ Maia Sandu said.    

The head of state thanked Vladimir Besleaga for character, intransigence and the literary work he has created. ‘’I wished him good health and inspiration and I promised him to work, in order to carry through the cause for which he struggled – to edify a nice country, where each man feels free and lives in dignity,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
