Over 14,000 people call ambulance in Moldova in last week

Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 14,402 calls for the providing of emergency medical assistance were registered at the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Centre during 19-25 July.
According to Centre’s data, the most frequent calls were respiratory emergencies – 2,367, followed by cardiovascular emergencies – 2,342, of whom 53 patients with acute coronary syndrome and 1,906 neurological emergencies, of which 202 cerebral vascular accidents.
On the concerned period, 1,551 citizens with diverse injuries called the intervention of ambulance. Teams of the Emergency Medicine Association were called in the case of 76 traffic accidents, in the wake of which 87 people were hit. Subsequently, 72 patients with injuries were carried to hospital.
Also, on the same period, 123 calls were recorded for reasons of emergencies triggered by physical, chemical and environmental agents, of which 38 cases of combustion and eight sunstrokes.
