Moldovan dies in the wake of traffic accident in Ukraine

Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - A Moldovan citizen has died and his wife was carried to the reanimation section, after a coach on the Chisinau-Kiev route, in which they were moving, had collided with a truck nearby the Znamenka commune, Odessa region of Ukraine.    

According to data put out by the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE), the accident occurred today morning. The coach had 20 passengers onboard.  

„Representatives of the diplomatic mission urgently made representations to   authorities, in order to get additional information on the citizenship, identity and situation of the people hit,’’ MAEIE said.  

Information received from local authorities shows that, following the accident, a 61-year-old man from Moldova died and his wife is hospitalized in the reanimation section. Another three victims of the accident, Ukrainian citizens, needed medical care and were put in a hospital from Podolsk.  

„The investigation is underway and the Consulate from Odessa is in touch with the Ukrainian authorities, in order to get information on the circumstances of the accident, as well as to provide consular assistance to the mourning family,’’ the Foreign Affairs Ministry also said.
