Two firemen, rescuers units to be constructed in Moldova with support of USA

Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ - Two units of firemen and rescuers will be constructed in Stefan Voda and Anenii Noi, with the support of the Technical Assistance Programme of the United States Department of State. On 27 July, the head of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), Mihai Harabagiu, and the head of the Bilateral Affairs Office of the United States, Sean Daily, made a monitoring visit to the two objects.
The first construction site visited was a shed from the Stefan Voda town, under full construction, after the foundation stone had been laid in March 2021. According to the project, the unit will include working offices, rooms for the preservation of the intervention technology, a stadium, a training tower, as well as a flight strip for the landing of helicopters of the Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD). Twenty five rescuers and firemen are to work at the new building and over 67,000 people residents of the Stefan Voda district will benefit from safety and security in risk situations. The project on the unit’s building is worth 655,000 dollars and is to be finished in a period of 28 months.
Another project visited by the two officials was the unit of rescuers and firemen from the central Anenii Noi district. The building was inspected here, which is ready to be exploited at a level of 95 per cent.
According to IGSU, due to the support on behalf of the American nation through the Technical Assistance Programme of the Department of State, 11 stations of rescuers and firemen have been put into operation till present.
