Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Municipal Extraordinary Public Health Commission on 27 July ordered the return to the yellow code of sanitary alert in the Chisinau municipality.
The Commission found out an increase, in the last week, in the number of new contaminations with COVID-19 by over 40 per cent and a 5.9-per cent growth in the number of deaths triggered by coronavirus, and given this, it described the epidemiological situation as ‘’alarming.’’
According to the new measures for preventing the increase in the number of new infections, as well as the extension of the Delta variant, the Commission recommends avoiding the events implying the presence of agglomerations of people.
At the same time, the municipal authorities asked for the immediate support of the power-wielding bodies (Interior Ministry, General Inspectorate of Carabineers) in the patrol of streets and monitoring the observance of the public health rules, including at public transport stops.
The elementary sanitary measures remain in force: wearing protection masks in all closed public spaces, in the public transport, at stops, at all public events in open spaces with agglomerations of people, at one-off rallies, mass rallies with the observance of the physical distance of at least one metre in these cases.
The green code of sanitary alert has been earlier in force in Chisinau.
