Moldovan writer publishes book of poems, aphorisms

Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ - A book of poems and aphorisms titled, Petale în rouă și spini (Petals in dew and thorns), by poet, humourist, prose writer and dramatist Ion Diordiev has been published at a publishing house from Chisinau.

The volume has 228 pages.

Ion Diordiev was born in the Nezavertailovca village, eastern Slobozia district, on 20 May 1935. In 1962, he graduated from the Moldovan State University, History and Philology Faculty, specialty of Romanian language and literature. He was head of section at the satire and humour magazine Chiparus (Pepper) and deputy editor-in-chief at the newspaper Feroviarul Moldovei (Moldova’s Railway-man). Diordiev taught the special course, Theory and practice of the genres of satire and humour in media, for students of the Letters Faculty of Moldova’s State University.

He debuted with a volume of humorous sketches and miniatures titled Zigzags in 1976.
