Moldovan parliamentary factions expected at consultations at Presidency

Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ - The parliamentary factions today are expected at consultations with President Maia Sandu, in order to identify a candidate for the office of prime minister.
The first were come to the meeting with the head of state the MPs of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) at 8:30. Afterwards, Maia Sandu is to meet the faction of the Electoral Bloc of Communists and Socialists at 9:00. The lawmakers of the faction of the Shor Party are expected at 9:30.
The PAS acting leader, Igor Grosu, said that the formation had ruled to put forward Natalia Gavrilita for the office of prime minister. ‘’Immediately after the parliament meeting, we summoned a meeting of PAS and we ruled to put up the candidacy of Natalia Gavrilita for the office of PM,’’ Grosu noted.
In a posting on his official page, the leader of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), Igor Dodon, wrote that ‘’nowhere is specified that the meeting must be held at the Presidency. I know that my colleagues of the faction invited Mrs. Maia Sandu, if she wants to come to consultations; they said – come to the factions office in parliament, just as I did in 2019,’’ Dodon added.
The PSRM leader specified that ‘’Natalia Gavrilita is a good professional; yet, the opposition cannot back the people of the power to the key positions from institutions.’’
