Twenty four settlements of Moldova remain disconnected from power supply after bad weater

Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ - Twenty four settlements from the districts of Glodeni, Donduseni, Floresti, Anenii Noi, Criuleni were disconnected from power supply following the 29 July rains. The strong wind and the rains knocked down more trees, which fell on roadway and on a gas pipeline.
According to data by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), 16 settlements today remained partially disconnected from power supply.
On 29 and 30 July, rescuers were called to carry out works of clearing trees who knocked down by the strong wind in the districts of Ungheni, Straseni, Ocnita, Cahul, Falesti, Floresti, Briceni, Edinet, Glodeni, Rascani and the Balti municipality.
Also, rescuers’ intervention was needed in the northern Edinet district, where a tree fell down on the roof of a house in the Cupcini village. At the same time, rescuers’ teams intervened to remove trees and branches which fell on natural gas tubes in the Soroca city and Balti municipality.
According to data collected by IGSU, 8 rescuers’ interventions were registered in the Chisinau municipality, who carried out works of clearing of trees who fell down on vehicles parked on capital’s streets; they also intervened in yards of blocks of apartments.
IGSU statistics shows that rescuers and firemen intervened in 110 risk situations in the last 24 hours.
