Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ - After being denounced by the internal security department of the State Fiscal Service (SFS), two SFS employees were detained by the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) for passive corruption.
According to CNA, the two employees of the State Fiscal Service’s general department of post-operational fiscal control are prosecuted in a file for passive corruption. They would have extorted 40,000 lei from an economic agent, in order to impose a lower fine to it, following a control carried out.
A criminal file was opened on this case and today morning CNA officers and prosecutors made raids at the job offices and homes of the suspects. Following these raids, one of the employees was detained for 72 hours and another one is to be prosecuted at large. If found guilty, the employees run the risk of being imprisoned for 5-10 years, with the deprivation of the right to hold certain offices for a period of ten years.
The State Fiscal Service today issued a press release, which reads that ‘’it dissociates itself from the fiscal employees who allow corruptible deeds, as well as reiterates the commitment to continue the work in the spirit of lawfulness.’’
