Sheriff Tiraspol approaching promotion to Champions League

Chisinau, 4 August /MOLDPRES/- Champion of the Republic of Moldova in football, Sheriff Tiraspol, drew 1-1 in Belgrade, playing in front of the Serbian champion, Crvena Zvezda, and won a point away.

In a match played at the Rajo Mitic Stadium in Belgrade, in front of over 24 thousand spectators, the team from Tiraspol scored in the first half by Frank Castaneda's shot and is close to qualifying for the Champions League. The Serbian team scored in the extra time of the first half through Lois Diony.

In the second half, the Serbian champion played an aggressive game and accumulated several yellow cards, the Serbian player Kanga being eliminated from the field in the 58th minute to receive the second warning.

A victory or an equal match in the return match, which will take place on August 10, at the stadium in Tiraspol, will promote the Moldovan team in the Champions League.
