Foreign minister had phone conversation with Romanian counterpart

Chisinau, 6 August /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration had a telephone conversation today with Bogdan Aurescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania. The Romanian official congratulated the investiture of the new Government in Chisinau and launched an invitation to pay a visit to Bucharest, an invitation accepted by the head of Moldovan diplomacy, the MAEIE press service has reported.
The foreign ministers agreed to speed up implementation of priority bilateral projects and identify new opportunities to meet the concrete needs of citizens, based on the bilateral Strategic Partnership for European Integration of the Republic of Moldova.
Nicu Popescu mentioned that taking over Romania's experience and expertise in European integration, carrying out joint projects in the field of energy infrastructure, transport and communications will bring the Republic of Moldova even closer to the European Union.
At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Romanian official for the consistent assistance offered in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, Romania being bilaterally the largest donor of vaccines for our country.
Minister Bogdan Aurescu reaffirmed Romania's consistent support for the European agenda of the Republic of Moldova, the full implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union and the support of our country at EU level.
