ANSA withdrew several types of ice cream from market

Chisinau, 9 August /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) has launched a service investigation, after a notification on the portal of the EU's rapid alert system (RASFF) on 19 July appeared regarding the content of ethylene oxide in the raw material used for the production of some sorts of ice cream, which reached the shelves of stores in the Republic of Moldova.
According to ANSA, through its territorial subdivisions, all necessary measures have been taken to identify importers of theproducts.
"In the service investigation it was established that the products were imported by three companies, and based on the documents attesting the traceability of the products, the places where these products were distributed were identified and their withdrawal from the production batches, mentioned in notification as being contaminated ”, indicates ANSA.
In conducting the service investigation, the following products were withdrawn from the market network: Bounty ice cream 39.1 g / 50.1 ml / 24/24 - 25 840 pieces; Snickers ice cream 48 g / 53 ml / 24/24 - 457 788 pieces; Snickers ice cream 66 g / 72.5 ml / 24/24 - 16 689 pieces; Twix ice cream 40 g / 50 ml / 24/24 - 8,856 pieces, etc.
The withdrawn lots are under restriction to be marketed and are to be returned to the country of origin.
