About six thousand doses of Pfizer vaccine arrived in Chisinau

Chisinau, 13 August /MOLDPRES/- 5,850 doses of COVID-19 vaccine, produced by the pharmaceutical company Pfizer / BioNTech, arrived in Chisinau today. The batch is part of the 700,830 doses purchased by the Ministry of Health.

So far, our country has received 43,290 doses of vaccine from those purchased from Pfizer / BioNTech.

The acquisition was made in the context of the implementation of the Health Component of the Project "Emergency Response to COVID-19 and support for micro, small and medium enterprises", in accordance with the Framework Loan Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), signed on July 29, 2020.

The 5,850 doses of vaccine have been deposited with the National Agency for Public Health and are to be distributed proportionally in all immunization points in the country.

To date, the Republic of Moldova has received 269,100 doses of Pfizer vaccine. Through the COVAX platform - 125 190 doses, donation from Romania - 100 620 doses, acquisitions - 43 290 doses.

So far, 1,128,625 vaccine doses have been administered in our country, and 464,111 people have been vaccinated.
