Moldovan firemen completed mission in Greece

Chisinau, 16 August /MOLDPRES/- Employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations / IGSU / deployed to Greece have completed their mission there.
According to the IGSU press service, Moldovan firemen extinguished forest fires on the island of Evia, where together with Romanian colleagues they identified burning outbreaks, extinguished fires and rescued animals. During the mission in the Greek state, IGSU employees extinguished over 420 outbreaks in the forest fund, cleared 22 trees, and discharged over 30,000 liters of water.
All actions of the team took place on an area of 300 ha. The rescuers were coordinated by Greek officers.
The mission of the Moldovan firefighters ended on August 15 after they managed to carry out all the proposed actions. They are due to arrive in the country in the first days of this week.
