Sappers operated demining action in Șerpeni, Anenii Noi

Chisinau, 16 August /MOLDPRES/- Codru battalion team intervened on Saturday in Șerpeni locality, Anenii Noi district, for a demining operation.

According to the unit's commander, Colonel Gheorghe Racu, following the field investigation, the sappers found 22 explosive objects, including: an 82 mm caliber bomber, an RPG-40 hand grenade, two M-39 hand grenades, six hand grenades F 1 and 12 hand grenades RG-42.

"All objects date from the period of World War II and were destroyed in conditions of maximum safety," says the Ministry of Defense.

"In such situations, the local authorities will be notified immediately, which will request, in their turn, the intervention of the demining groups in the respective areas", the quoted source said.
