Moldovan speaker meets German envoy

Chisinau, 16 August /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu had a meeting today with German Ambassador to Moldova Angela Ganninger, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
The discussions focused on Moldovan-German interparliamentary relations in the context of the establishment of the new legislature of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and in the perspective of the elections in the German Bundestag due on 26 September.
The officials voiced confidence in developing and boosting good relations of cooperation, including through friendship groups.
The German side assured willingness to provide necessary parliamentary technical assistance given that the majority of members of the new Moldovan Parliament are in their first term as deputies.
Germany has also decided to extend the application period to the 2022 International Parliamentary Scholarship Program of Germany, so that eligible young people interested in German political life can take advantage of this opportunity.
The speaker thanked Germany for the assistance provided to Moldova in investment, technical, educational and cultural projects. In particular, Igor Grosu thanked His Excellency for the support provided by Germany in combating the coronavirus pandemic.
Angela Ganninger wished Igor Grosu success in carrying out the mission of great responsibility as speaker.
