Chisinau, 16 August /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan airlines, which were contracted to operate in Afghanistan, were evacuated. Currently, only one aircraft is in this country, and among the crew members are also Moldovan citizens, the Civil Aviation Authority has reported.

"In order to evacuate, it is waiting for instructions from the contracting party, which is a subdivision of the United Nations (UN)," the source said.

If a state of alert / war is declared in a certain region, the air operators have the obligation to analyze the risks related to the operation of the respective route. In the risk assessment process, air operators will review restrictions imposed by National Aviation Authorities on the date of destination or recommendations issued by relevant International Organizations, such as ICAO or EASA. The results of the assessment of these risks will be presented to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Republic of Moldova, according to the established safety requirements.
