Moldovan foreign ministry's notes on security situation in Afghanistan

Chisinau, 16 August /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration is closely monitoring the evolution of the security situation in Afghanistan, the MAEIE press service has reported.
In the first half of the day, Moldova joined the joint declaration of the international community, supported by over 70 countries, calling for Afghan citizens and foreigners wishing to leave Afghanistan to be allowed to leave, and airports and checkpoints of the border to remain open.
At the same time, there were no requests for repatriation from the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
If necessary, the ministry will be fully involved in the process of evacuating Moldovan citizens by ensuring coordinated communication through diplomatic channels with partner countries that have a diplomatic representation in Kabul.
MAEIE diplomats are already in contact with counterparts from the foreign ministries of Romania and Ukraine to intervene promptly, if needed in order to assist our compatriots.
