Moldovan speaker meets head of Council of Europe Office

Chisinau, 16 August /MOLDPRES/- Legislative initiatives and priorities of the 11th Parliament were among the issues discussed at today's meeting between Speaker Igor Grosu and Head of the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau William Massolin, the parrliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

The speaker spoke about the projects approved in the first reading, during the extraordinary parliamentary session, which are part of the package of laws for the reform of justice and the fight against corruption.

Grosu said that among the priorities of the Parliament of the 11th Legislature are also the protection of human rights and ensuring gender equality.

William Massolin voiced willingness to provide assistance and advice in modernizing legislation and promoting ambitious reforms.

In another context, Grosu informed Massolin about the approval of the nominal composition of the Parliamentary Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), which proportionally and equitably reflects the entire political spectrum of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.
