About 15,000 people called ambulance last week

Chisinau, 17 August /MOLDPRES/- The emergency medical assistance teams (AMU) provided the first medical aid for 14,897 citizens on 9-15 August. Subsequently, 6,069 people, including 4,536 adults and 1,533 children, were transported to the emergency departments of hospitals in the country.
Most often patients requested an ambulance for 2,762 respiratory emergencies (1,191 were due to acute viral respiratory infections), followed by 2,147 cardiovascular emergencies (44 patients were diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome) and neurological emergencies were 1 934 cases (208 strokes).
During the period, 1,444 citizens with various injuries received first aid at the pre-hospital stage. AMU teams were called in case of 82 road accidents, as a result of which 101 people suffered. Subsequently, 86 patients were transported to the hospital depending on their condition.
During the week, ambulance teams promptly intervened in ten people who showed acute allergic reactions to anaphylactic shock due to stings caused by insects (bees, wasps). At the same time, the Emergency Service registered 95 requests due to emergencies generated by physical, chemical and environmental agents, of which 38 cases of combustion and three sunstrokes.
