Moldovan parliament to convene in meetings on 20 and 24 August

Chisinau, 17 August /MOLDPRES/- Parliament will convene in meetings on 20 August, starting at 10:00, and on 24 August, starting at 11:00. A decision to this effect was taken today by parliament's standing bureau, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
At the 20 August meeting, MPs will hear the progress report on the process of recovering the stolen funds from the banking system. The need for parliamentary hearings on this issue lies in the increased interest of citizens, but also in the fact that it is a conditionality of the European Union for the disbursement of the second tranche of macro-financial assistance for our country.
At the 24 August meeting, they will approve several bills at second reading.
The second part of the meeting on August 24 will be festive and will be the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Moldova. On this occasion, the meeting will be attended by members of the Executive Bureau of the Public Association "Parliament-90", signatories of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova.
