Training seminar for agricultural landowners organized in Nisporeni district

Chisinau, 18 August /MOLDPRES/- The Sustainable Development Fund of Moldova in partnership with the USAID Project High-Value Agriculture in Moldova (APM) yesterday organized a training seminar for agricultural landowners in Nisporeni district. The event, entitled "Rational use and protection of soils in the service areas of centralized irrigation systems", took place in the village of Bărboieni, the area of the Centralized Irrigation System Grozești, the association Prutenii II.
The purpose of the training was to raise awareness of the need to protect and increase soil fertility and land improvement. The event was attended by members of water users' associations, representatives of the agriculture and food department, landowners, etc.
“Those present at the event were familiar with policy documents in the field of land improvement, rational use and soil protection, the impact of irrigation on soil resources, the advantages of using drones and streamlining the land monitoring process in the area of Centralized Irrigation Systems. At the same time, the owners of agricultural lands participated in a practical exercise in the field, where they were demonstrated the technologies for measuring soil moisture and analysis of soil demonstration profiles in the area of the "Grozești" Irrigation System and the main measures to prevent and combat erosion of soils ", indicates the Ministry of Agriculture.
The training workshops are support actions for the implementation of the Training Program for agricultural land owners on land improvement measures, protection and increase of soil fertility for 2021, established in action no. 1.2. from the Land Improvement Program in order to ensure the sustainable management of soil resources for the years 2021-2025, approved by Government Decision.
