Moldovan speaker meets Czech envoy

Chisinau, 18 August /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu today met Czech Ambassador to Moldova Stanislav Kázecký.
According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, the officials approached political developments in the Republic of Moldova, the legislative agenda and the prospects for the development of the Moldovan-Czech interparliamentary dialogue.
Stanislav Kázecký expressed his country's interest in intensifying the collaboration between the two Chambers of the Czech Parliament and the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, including through the friendship groups, committees and commissions, but also at the high level.
According to His Excellency, a first step could be the visit of the members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic to Chisinau, after the parliamentary elections in this country, which will take place in October.
Stanislav Kázecký expressed the readiness of the Czech authorities to continue to support the development of our country in various fields, especially in those in which the Czech Republic has an active contribution: social development, agriculture, environment.
The Czech diplomat stressed that the Republic of Moldova has in the person of the Czech Republic a good friend in the European Union who is ready to help her further.
The speaker expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the Czech Republic to the Republic of Moldova and especially emphasized the considerable help in the management of the pandemic crisis.
"We really appreciate that the Republic of Moldova is a priority on the Czech foreign technical assistance agenda," Igor Grosu stressed.
The Speaker shared the interest and determination to expand the collaboration between the legislative institutions of our countries. In his opinion, a closer interparliamentary dialogue is important for approximating the legislative framework of the Republic of Moldova with the community one.
Igor Grosu announced that, at the beginning of the ordinary session, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova will approve the composition of the friendship group with the Czech Republic.
